| Title: | Caracterização da morfometria da bacia hidrográfica do rio cavernoso |

| Resume: | Características morfométricas são de fundamental importância para contribuir no planejamento e avaliação nas tomadas de decisão relativas à preservação e ao uso e ocupação do solo de uma bacia hidrográfica. Desta forma, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar os parâmetros morfométricos da bacia hidrográfica do rio Cavernoso (BHRC). Combinado com técnicas de geoprocessamento, pôde-se caracterizar os parâmetros físicos desta bacia, utilizando as seguintes características morfométricas: coeficiente de compacidade, fator de forma, índice de circularidade, densidade de drenagem, tempo de concentração, índice de sinuosidade, razão de alongamento, razão de relevo relativo e índice hipsométrico. Verificou-se com os resultados obtidos que a área de drenagem da BHRC foi de 2.627,15 Km² e seu perímetro de 285,57 Km, com formato semi-alongado, mostrando pouco favorável a inundações, apresentando 6 graus de ramificações e classificada com uma hierarquia fluvial de 6ª ordem. Assim, o estudo da morfometria do rio Cavernoso pode fornecer informações da atual situação desta bacia, podendo dar subsídios a gestão e planejamento para futuros trabalhos no local. Como resultado obtido verificou-se que a bacia apresentou drenagem de 78,08 km² e o perímetro de 47 km, com formato alongado e que se mostrou pouco favorável a inundações, sendo classificada como de 4° ordem, com baixo grau de ramificação. A bacia apresenta baixas densidades de drenagem, canal principal retilíneo e com baixa declividade, que em condições naturais não é propensa a erosão fluvial. |
| Abstract: | The hypsometric index is a measure that relates the area of the hydrographic basin with the altitudes of its surface, that is, it is a measure of the altimetric distribution of the basin. The present work consists, in the study of the watershed of the Cavernoso river, with emphasis in the morphometric parameters. Fundamental study for understanding the dynamics of aquatic ecosystems and for planning strategies for the management and conservation of water resources. In this context, the river that is located in the state of Paraná, arouses great interest for its environmental and economic importance in the region. The analysis of the morphometric characteristics allows identifying the areas of greatest contribution to the river, the basin's storage capacity, susceptibility to erosion and other relevant aspects for the management of water resources, as they support the understanding of dynamic processes operating in the relief. Thus, the study of the morphometry of the Cavernoso River can provide crucial information for decision-making related to the development of the region where the basin is located. |
