| Resume: | A presente pesquisa é uma análise do documentário “Vale do rio Uruguai- Cidade de Chapecó” através de pontos da geografia cultural e da análise de documentário como fonte histórica. O documentário apresenta o ciclo da madeira na região oeste de Santa Catarina, e as infraestruturas urbanas de Chapecó nos primeiros anos década de 1950, sob uma visão colonizadora e elitista. A pesquisa desse documentário é importante pela falta de materiais produzidos sobre o mesmo, dado que seu conteúdo aborda o momento que o setor madeiro ainda dominava a economia regional e um período inicial de planejamento da cidade, e evidencia uma perspectiva unilateral sobre o desenvolvimento econômico e urbanístico. Posteriormente ao evento do linchamento, a preocupação em transmitir uma imagem positiva da região fez com que fossem ignoradas as dificuldades e problemas sociais sempre presentes em Chapecó. Para a realização desta pesquisa, utilizaremos o documentário e analisaremos a forma tendenciosa de que se apresentam esses fatos. |
| Abstract: | This research is an analysis of the “Vale do rio Uruguai - Cidade de Chapecó” documentary through points of cultural geography and the analysis of the documentary as a historical source. The documentary presents the wood cycle in the West region of Santa Catarina, and the urban infrastructure of Chapecó in the early 1950s, under a colonizing and elitist vision. The research of this documentary is important due to the lack of materials produced about it since its content addresses the period when the wood sector still dominated the regional economy and the initial period of Chapecó planning and shows a unilateral perspective on economic and urban development. After the lynching event, the concern with transmitting a positive image of the region made the difficulties and social problems always present in Chapecó to be ignored. To carry out this research, we will use the documentary and analyze the biased way in which these facts are presented. |
