Representações cartográficas do bairro Progresso em Erechim-RS: usos e possibilidades

Abstract

Having knowledge of the space we live and transform is essential to think about public assistance policies. Cartographic representations become tools for the (re)cognition of space and its relationships. Therefore, this research seeks to answer what are the uses and possibilities of social cartography for the Progresso neighborhood in Erechim-RS? In this sense, this research aimed to identify how the types of cartographic representations of Bairro Progresso, in Erechim-RS, enable the understanding of the lived space. Authors such as MARTINELLI (2019), JOLY (1990), ACSELRAD & VIÉGAS (2013) and LINDO (2020) helped us in the reflection and methodologies of application of some cartographic representations. Exploratory research methodologies, scientific articles, Thesis and Dissertations were used on the Google Scholar platform to verify how social cartography has been used. Interviews were carried out with a Health Agent, Social Worker and Public Security Agent, to understand the lived reality of people who live and work in the neighborhood and the field research methodology was used for the (re)knowledge of the neighborhood, from of the interviews. For the analysis of the results of the interviews, the method of Content Analysis by Bardin (1977) was used. As a result, it became clear that, from the interviewees' speech, the neighborhood needs investments, both from the public and private authorities, to improving the population's quality of life and safety and actions aimed at empowering women, which can reduce interest in violence and crime. In addition, we concluded that analyzing the neighborhood from its limits is not enough, since the relationships between social elements and phenomena are independent of territorial limits.
