Dicionários online e sentidos em circulação sobre o sujeito indígena

Abstract

The present research proposes an articulation between Discourse Analysis (DA) and History of Linguistic Ideas (HIL) by analyzing how the "indigenous" verbete works in the online dictionaries produces meanings about the indigenous and puts them into circulation. For this, initially, it is about the online dictionaries as a linguistic instrument and concepts of AD pechetiana, which support this work, such as the notions of imaginary (Pêcheux, 1997), of discursive memory (Pêcheux, 1995), metallic memory (Orlandi, 1996), digital memory (Dias, 2016) and technodiscursive memory (Paveau, 2022) because we understand they have effects on the production of meanings in online dictionaries. The methodological path consisted of a survey of online dictionaries of Portuguese language, including synonyms and antonyms dictionaries, the search resulted in 13 dictionaries, in which, taking the "indigenous entry entry, the first consultation was held. Through the methodology "word-puxa-word" (Petri, 2018), a survey of words that mobilize/ move senses about indigenous, observing possible regularities, and from which were selected cuttings and discursive sequences (SD), which constituted the corpus of the research. Considering the ease of editing digital materiality and the collaborative operation of some of the dictionaries, It is important to note that this consultation took place on 27 and 28 June 2023. For the interpretation gesture, the SDs were separated and grouped by regularities and then analyzed in order to meet the research objective. In the dictionaries of synonyms and antonyms, methodological procedure was carried out to search in the dictionaries of synonyms and antonyms the entry (indigenous) and words, which through "word-puxa- word" were shown to be regular, then the definitions for such were sought in dictionaries. The registration of indigenous people in the past, their connection with a physical/geographical space, and the evasiveness of dictionaries in defining and the support of the idea of deficit of the indigenous. The functioning of the "indigenous" entry in online dictionaries (re)the indigenous by inscribing their discourses in networks of filiation of senses that correspond to the colonizing discourse, reinforcing stereotypes and idealizations, From this, it was identified the imbrication of two discursive places in the definitions of online dictionaries, the one as a linguistic instrument and the other as a colonizer. Because of this imbrication, it is understood that online dictionaries function as "discourse on" (Orlandi, 1990) The indigenous, producing memory and inscribing their statements in networks of filiation of senses, having a crucial role in the institutionalization of these senses.
