Violência de gênero: uma análise a partir da perspectiva feminina

Abstract

The proposed research is related to the theme of violence against women, taking into account gender violence and femicide and examining how male domination and patriarchal society influence social behaviors that generate the social ills studied. The proposed objective was to analyze how the social context interferes with the resignation of women victims of gender violence. To this end, qualitative research and a literature review were conducted, characterized as a case study. The research subjects were five women who were victims of attempted femicide or serious violence, assisted by the Women's Assistance Reference Center in 2023 or 2024 and referred by the 2nd Criminal Court or the Police Station for the Protection of Vulnerable Groups. In this sense, we analyze how the social context of women victims of gender violence, as well as the relationships established with their aggressors, interferes with their resignation, also identifying how this relationship of violence and, to some extent, affection, relates to the social representations constituted by them in relation to the roles of men and women in Brazilian society and in the community in which they live. Based on the data analysis, it was identified that the intersectionality between the social, economic, and cultural reality present in situations involving gender violence manifests the complex net that sustains and perpetuates this devastating phenomenon, against the backdrop of the patriarchal ideology of women's submission to men, impacting daily life and social relations. The narratives evaluated demonstrated the intricate patriarchal implications, the impasse of unequal economic alliances, and the consequences of the internalization of female subordination in women's lives and choices/impositions. Similarities were noted between the stories of violence shared, recognizing the controlling and determining presence of patriarchy in different ways due to the particularities of each woman's life story, in addition to the influence of social markers of race, age, culture, and social status on the resignation of the victims. The case study analysis contributed significantly to the understanding of violence as a social, economic, and political problem, particularly by identifying it as a structural issue in society, which naturalizes subordination and domination based on sexual differences, which was found to make it difficult for victims to identify the origin of violence, contributing to its perpetuation in situations of rights violations.
