A percepção das transformações na cidade de Ita-SC : antes e depois da instalação da UHE

Abstract

This work is based on the perception of the transformations in the landscape, in the environment and in the social relationships between the residents of the city of Itá-SC, who have witnessed the reallocation of the city due to the implantation of a Hydroelectric Power Plant. With the aim of analyzing these transformations, asking the residents of the city, making a comparation of the present with the past and developing a strategy of analysis of the geographic landscape based on the relation that those people have with that landscape. This research justifies itself in consequence of the big amount of modifications that are occurring in that environment and provoking changes in the landscape. Landscape that needs to be increasingly considered and analyzed, because a bigger understanding about it is needed, comprehending that it isn’t just based on the nature with the society, being this an intrinsic fusion. Thus, the socionatural question is very complex, where the landscapes are moulded with the particularities added by the societies, using “the elements of nature as resources for the production and reproduction of the territories” (SOUZA, 2015). The methodology of this work was consisted by many fieldworks, to gather informations and meterials, technical visits on the hystorical documentation places, such as Casa Camarolli and Albertoni, and interviews with the elderly local residents, besides the transcription and analysis of the interviews about the perception of these residents about the city of Itá before and after the construction of the Hydroelectric Power Plant. Finally, is concluded that although the interviews beginned with the residents praising the new city, during it, everybody reminded significant details of their lives in the old city. Details that caused many emotions, becoming evident the profound feeling of belonging to that place, and opening a possible reading about the landscape through the memories of the residents.
