“Ficar grávida longe de casa”: um estudo sobre as experiências de mulheres migrantes gestantes e puérperas na atenção primária à saúde em Passo Fundo/RS (2024-2025)

Abstract

This dissertation investigates the experiences of immigrant pregnant and postpartum women assisted by Primary Health Care in northern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Based on a qualitative approach, interviews and participant observation were conducted with migrant women. Data were analyzed using content and discourse analysis, incorporating intersectionality as a theoretical-methodological lens. The findings reveal multiple layers of inequality shaped by gender, race, nationality, and class, which affect access to health services, experiences of motherhood, and community ties. The research highlights the importance of expanding care in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) through qualified listening and inclusive policies, recognizing the subjectivities and strengths expressed in the trajectories of migrant women.
