A inclusão das mulheres na filosofia e na sociedade: a marginalização das mulheres indígenas em posições de liderança à luz de Nísia Floresta

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the historical exclusion of women from the field of philosophy and from society, with particular emphasis on the invisibility of Indigenous women in positions of leadership and power. The research is based on the reflections of authors such as Juliana Pacheco, Maria Luísa Ribeiro, and especially Nísia Floresta, seeking to understand how female intellectual production has been silenced throughout history and the impacts of this exclusion on academic and social contexts. The guiding problem of this study is to understand why women, especially Indigenous women, are still rarely recognized as subjects of knowledge and decision-making, despite their fundamental role in the organization and continuity of their communities. The methodology adopted is bibliographic in nature, grounded in the analysis of philosophical works and contemporary studies that address gender, philosophy, and the condition of Indigenous women. The findings indicate that female exclusion is not restricted to the past but remains present in current social and cultural structures, reinforcing inequalities and practices of silencing. In this context, the thought of Nísia Floresta offers a significant contribution by defending the rational equality between men and women and emphasizing education as a tool for emancipation. It is concluded that valuing women as thinking and active subjects is essential for the construction of a more just and egalitarian society. By highlighting the reality of Indigenous women within their communities, this study seeks to contribute to the strengthening of their voices, recognizing their importance not only as guardians of culture but also as agents capable of transforming the way society thinks and acts.
