Abstract: The production of high-quality seedlings is a critical step for the successful cultivation of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.), especially in organic systems, where biological soil management and the use of bio-inputs play a fundamental role in the plants’ early development. In this context, the objective of this dissertation was to evaluate the influence of different containers and bio-inputs on the quality of Milagros tomato seedlings produced in an organic system, thereby contributing to the development of technologies applicable to family farming and the sustainable production of vegetables. The objective of this study was to conduct two independent experiments aimed at improving the production of Milagros tomato seedlings in an organic system. In the first experiment, the effect of different container volumes on the growth and quality of the seedlings was evaluated, using a 128-cell tray (23.60 mL), a small tube (55 mL), and a large tube (190 mL). In the second experiment, the effect of different bio-inputs applied to seedlings produced in 190-mL containers was evaluated, using native yeast, bokashi, Trichoderma harzianum, and a control without bio-input application. Morphological characteristics of the aerial part and root system were evaluated, including the length of the aerial part and roots, collar diameter, fresh weight, and dry weight. Forty days after sowing, it was observed that containers with a volume equal to or greater than 55 ml resulted in better development of the aerial parts and root system compared to the 23.60 mL tray. The 55 mL container performed similarly to the 190 mL container for several variables evaluated, indicating potential for efficient use in commercial nurseries. Among the bio-inputs evaluated, bokashi promoted the highest growth and biomass values in the seedlings. It is concluded that containers with a volume of 55 mL or greater favor the quality of tomato seedlings during the nursery phase and that bokashi constitutes a promising alternative for organic seedling production. The research was part of a regional project to strengthen organic tomato production carried out in the Alto Uruguai Gaúcho region, involving research institutions, a seedling nursery, a cooperative, and family farmers, highlighting the practical applicability of the results obtained. Thus, in addition to its scientific contribution to advancing knowledge about seedling production in organic systems, the study provides technical guidance for the adoption of sustainable technologies, strengthening regional tomato production and contributing to innovation, technology transfer, and the development of family farming.
