A prática pedagógica das/os professoras/es: etnografia sobre as relações de gênero em duas escolas de Chapecó

Abstract

This monograph of Degree in Social Sciences of the Federal University of the South Frontier (UFFS) aims to analyze how gender issues arise and are processed in the classroom by teachers of the public education. To achieve this goal, a descriptive study was carried out with the presence of the researcher in class in two public schools in the city of Chapecó, State of Santa Catarina, covering all the compulsory subjects of High School. As a research instrument for the data collection, semistructured interviews were conducted with seventeen teachers and two Assistant Directors of the schools. This descriptive study revealed that the relations of gender (sexuality) are in the daily school life, and yet, they are not always perceived by the teachers, and can turn into prejudices, discrimination and violence. Finally, this research collaborated to rethink the pedagogical practice of teachers and the discourses used in the daily routine of the classroom.
