Extensão rural e materialismo histórico: uma análise dos métodos de sistematização de experiências agroecológicas adotados pela Associação Brasileira de Agroecologia

Abstract

After the end of the military dictatorship and opening from Brazil for the redemocratization, professionals from the agrarian sciences show a crisis in public extension services. Then start a long debate that stands until the present, that has the objective of understand the role historically developed by extension actions in strengthening the diffusion of agricultural technologies resulting from the expansion process of the 2nd Modern Agricultural Revolution, as well as finding measures that overcome the contradictions present in agriculture. From the 2000s, an agroecological field has been consolidated in the country, where Agroecology has been treated as a scientific approach. One of the main actions aimed at this recognition was the creation, in 2004, of the Brazilian Agroecology Association (ABA-Agroecology). ABAAgroecologia launched, in 2015, the project “Systematization of experiences: knowledge construction and socialization - the protagonism of the Agroecology Nuclei and Network of Study Centers of Brazilian public universities”, which aimed to perform practices of construction and socialization of agroecological knowledge in Agroecology Study Centers (NEA's) and Networks of Agroecology Study Centers (R-NEA's) through participatory systematization of experiences. The aim of this course conclusion paper is to analyze, from the perspective of historical materialism, the methods of systematization of agroecological experiences adopted by ABA-Agroecology in the project in question. It was concluded that the systematization of agroecological experiences was inconsistent with the theoretical framework based on Popular Education, as adopted by the entity, and that the use of participatory methodologies was inefficient in the construction and socialization of agroecological knowledge.
