Abstract: | The cultivation of Beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) from the Amaranthaceous family is one of the main vegetables produced in Brazil. Cultivated in a conventional way that is characterized by intense mechanization causing soil degradation and high labor force. New cultivation techniques are being implemented in the production of vegetables to ensure improvements in the environmental and economic conditions, for example the no-tillage system, this technique has the advantage of reducing soil damage, especially in the production of Beetroot. However, there is resistance from some farmers, because the predecessor crop that covers the ground is not always of economic interest. One option of soil cover is haystack, due to its high amount of Phyto mass presents a slow decomposition in no-tillage, also allowing the commercialization or consumption of corn cob, but is unaware of the effect of corn haystack or cover on beet crops. Therefore, or objective of this work was to evaluate the plant classification and physicochemical characteristics of beets from different corn plants densities, which were harvested 60 days after planting. The parameters evaluated outside: commercial classification length, diameter, mass, flesh firmness, soluble solids, titratable acidity, pH and ratio, phenolic compounds. Non-significant non-variables included: length, flesh firmness, soluble solids and phenolic compounds. It is concluded that high densities of haystack on the beet crop SPDH has negative affect on the classification and the products. |
