And empirical research of qualitative character, with the accomplishment and analysis of interviews with the farmers who practice agroecology in the settlements “Terra Livre” and “19 de Outubro”. The interviews were based on a semistructured road map in order to know the profile of these families, the production unit and the agroecological practice. The analysis of the data showed the challenges faced by producers to achieve autonomy in the production of agroecological foodstuffs and in quantity capable of supplying the local markets and that, above all, are within the reach of all. However, even with some limitations, farmers are seeking to organize themselves in an attempt to consolidate the agroecological transition in the territory.
