Abstract: | The present research analyzed the effects of transgenic soy (Glycine Max) in western Santa Catarina, in a time period that integrates the years 2002 to 2010. The study understands how transgenic soy changes the productive processes in the region, which are harmful and social . in this problem. Agricultural commodities (low value-added products) are gaining international prominence and Brazil is an important producer of this type of commodity. The growing expansion of agricultural frontiers in Brazil has its benefit in monocultures, in this case, in transgenic soybeans, in advancing the threat to biodiversity, in causing environmental imbalance and its possible future problems still carry uncertainties. Based on sources in local newspapers, a survey classifies as main institutions and individuals that act in the diffusion of transgenic soy in western Santa Catarina, taking into account as existing opposites, including the officially pre-selected medical records of transgenic soy and post- selected. A discussion of the presence of large agricultural groups is another theme presented in this research, their resources and ramifications, identified as these organisms behave, from multinational companies and those associated with local companies. |
