Um estudo sobre a evasão no curso de Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul Campus Erechim

Abstract

The high rate of dropout in higher education remains as a problem that should be the interest not only of higher education institutions and education authorities, but also of society, the reason for the university. More than the private universities, the public ones owe a positive response to the citizen who contributes to its maintenance. With this understanding, this study aims to identify and understand the student evasion in Social Sciences Degree Course at the Federal University of the Border South, Campus Erechim, starting from the study of the causes that lead students to disconnect themselves from university courses. The analysis of the theoretical production that addresses evasion, their academic and social implications, and the study focuses on the phenomenon in the framework of the Campus of Erechim UFFS and Bachelor of Social Sciences. It is proposed to contribute with new elements, presenting questions, but also, pointing measures that may be useful for the continuity of a necessary discussion to the confrontation of the problem.
