Abstract

The present work has as its theme the challenges of women in the continuation of the Pedagogy course. It is proposed to analyze what has been hindering the permanence of the students of the Pedagogy course of the Federal University of the Southern Frontier / Erechim campus, as well as, what are the reasons for the dropout of the course. Thus, this paper aims to identify among the students who dropped out of the Pedagogy course, from 2015 to 2018, the difficulties and reasons for not staying, in order to collaborate with a diagnosis for the course to reflect and constitute administrative-pedagogical support actions. The methodologies used for the production of this work were: qualitative bibliographic research, as well as analysis of semi-structured interviews conducted with former students of the Pedagogy course. In the bibliographical studies analyzed, gender differences and inequalities are neither natural nor biological, nor is it an innocuous phenomenon, given that this impact is noticeable in several spheres. In the face of the interviews, we highlight the difficulties of reconciling the responsibilities of family, work and academic life.
