A utilização das plantas medicinais em um centro de educação infantil no município de Salto do Lontra - PR

Abstract

The present research aims at understanding the conceptions of the school community about Medicinal Plants in a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (MCECE). This qualitative-quantitative study sought to know how the use of Medicinal Plants occurs, through the answers to the questionnaires that were applied to the parents and two teachers of classes in the Garden of a MCECE of Salto do Lontra city, of the state of Paraná. The data transcribed from the questionnaires were analyzed based on the Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) (MORAES and GALLIAZI, 2011), identifying whether or not the use of Medicinal Plants occurs and which are the most used.The research showed that most people use Medicinal Plants, because they believe that because they are natural, they do not present health risks. Several species of Medicinal Plants were mentioned in the questionnaires, of which Boldo, Mintelã and Guaco were the ones that appeared the most. A workshop was developed, in which was clarified the use of Medicinal Plants, the risks that may represent health, the possible adverse effects that can be triggered, and the correct way of preparing teas. In this workshop was delivered a folder for the participants that had the form of preparation of teas and information on some of Medicinal Plants most cited in the questionnaires. It was thus recognized the importance of discussing the use of Medicinal Plants for the best knowledge about them in a school context.
