Abstract: | This work aimed to analyze the influence of the pluviometric regime and atmospheric temperature on the runoff coefficient (C) on a non-glazed ceramic tile roof, in Chapecó city. The experiment was carried out by assembling a small-scale roof with its respective capture and storage systems. Data monitoring was performed with two types of pluviometer and an atmospheric temperature sensor. The measured coefficients showed a high dispersion of values, being its median and mean, 0.57 and 0.58, respectively. The mean C is 20% lower than the values recommended in the literature and generally adopted in projects, which may result in over-dimensioning of the rainwater capture and storage systems of rainwater harvesting. Three of the nine independent variables analyzed showed a moderate positive correlation with C coefficient, pluviometric height, duration of the longest event and thermal amplitude. This relationship is possibly explained by porosity the tile, absorption, evaporation and atmospheric humidity. It is suggested the adoption of C values between a confidence interval of 0.51 to 0.66 for similar climates of the city where the experiment was installed. Since the adoption of the C value is a very important part of a capture and storage project of rainwater harvesting, this work can contribute to promote design environmental and financial sustainability. |
