| Resume: | O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar as características da planta de milho para produção de silagem de acordo com a densidade populacional por hectare na região norte do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Avaliaram-se características da planta do milho como o peso de massa verde da planta, altura de planta e diâmetro de colmo após 120 dias de emergência. As sementes foram distribuídas com três espaçamentos diferentes: com 0,80m entre linhas, 0,60m entre linhas, e 0,40m entre linhas. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos ao acaso. As comparações entre as médias foram feitas mediante a aplicação do teste de Tukey ao nível de 5% de probabilidade. Concluiu-se que a redução no espaçamento entre linhas na cultura do milho de 0,80m para 0,40m, resulta em uma maior produtividade de massa verde na cultura, característica de grande importância na produção de silagem. |
| Abstract: | The objective of this work was to evaluate the characteristics of the corn plant for silage production according to the population density per hectare in the northern region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Corn plant characteristics were evaluated as the green mass of the Corn plant, plant height and stalk diameter after 120 days of emergence. The seeds were distributed with three different spacings: 0.80m between rows, 0.60m between rows, and 0.40m between rows. The design was used in randomized blocks. The comparisons between the averages were made by applying the Tukey test at the 5% probability level. It was concluded that the reduction in line spacing in the maize crop from 0.80m to 0.40m results in a higher yield of green mass in the crop. Characteristic of great importance in the production of silage. |
