Resumen : Objectives: To describe the clinical and epidemiological profile of women affected by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reporting the clinical manifestations and epidemiological characteristics of these women. Methodology: Cross-sectional study, carried out in Passo Fundo-RS from January 2017 to December 31, 2021 with PCOS patients. Epidemiological and clinical data were obtained by consulting electronic medical records using a standardized questionnaire. Data were double entered and validated. The analysis consisted of absolute and relative frequency distribution of categorical variables, and mean and standard deviation of numeric variables. Results: 71 women were included in the analyzed period, with a mean age of 30.3 years (±7.4), predominantly white, with a mean BMI of 27 Kg/m2 (±4). As for the laboratory manifestations of the carriers, 47.9% had high triglycerides, 57.7% had HDL less than 40 mg/dl and 39.4% had fasting glucose > 100. Regarding clinical manifestations, 32.4% of the patients women had acanthosis nigricans, 63.4% had hirsutism, 52.1% had acne and 69% of patients had amenorrhea as the main manifestation of menstrual irregularity. Conclusion: The clinical manifestations of PCOS occur heterogeneously, that is, carriers can manifest a wide variety of symptoms, the most prevalent being obesity, changes in glycemic levels and lipid profile, hirsutism, amenorrhea, acanthosis nigricans and acne. Therefore, clinical attention, exclusion of differential diagnoses, comprehensive follow-up and a transdisciplinary approach to women with this syndrome are necessary. Objectives: To describe the clinical and epidemiological profile of women affected by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reporting the clinical manifestations and epidemiological characteristics of these women.
