O papel das feiras-livres de produtos da agricultura familiar na construção da autonomia de mulheres agricultoras: um estudo de caso em municípios paranaenses

Abstract

The present study analyzes the reality of women farmers, their participation in free markets, and the importance of achieving autonomy through work, as well as social, cultural, and economic aspects over the years. Through personal accounts of lived experiences, it seeks to highlight the difficulties and changes in both autonomy and social paradigms. The aim of this study was to identify the changes that occurred in the reality of women farmers after their inclusion in the free markets of family farming in the municipalities of Palmital and Pitanga, PR. The research conducted is characterized as

descriptive, a case study with a qualitative approach. The method used was a semi- structured script and fieldwork was carried out in two stages. The collected data were

subjected to content analysis based on the sequential mixed method. The results highlighted the inclusive nature of the free markets of Family Agriculture that encompasses different profiles of market vendors. There is a transition in production methods where farmers report a reduction in the use of chemical products, gradual replacement of conventional crops by horticulture, although there is still an inclination towards market impositions imposed by agribusiness according to the reports of those surveyed. There is also a change in the relationship of farmers and their families with the environment and in the position of these women in the family group. With regard to the construction of women’s autonomy, changes in economic aspects are more evident in reports, where those surveyed began to generate and manage their own income.
