Produção de cachaça em Itá, Santa Catarina: história, memória e patrimônio

Abstract

The production of artisanal cachaça in Itá Santa Catarina began in the 1922s. The material and immaterial traces of this activity provide a study that leads us to a better understanding of the Alto Uruguai Catarinense region. This work aimed to historicize the production of cachaça in Itá in the state of Santa Catarina, analyzing historical, cultural, economic, production and cultural landscape aspects. The research sources were bibliographic, iconographic, material culture and oral, with semi-structured interviews. The methodology followed an organization according to research from different sources, carrying out field activities, archives, museums, collections and office work. In the first chapter, an approach was made to the process of occupation of Itá and the actions of the colonizer Luce Rosa. The second deals with seventeen cachaça mills, describing historical, structural, productive and cultural aspects. In the third and last part, a general approach to the data collected during the research is presented and provides a reflection on the cultural landscape and preservation of heritage in the municipality's cachaça mills.
