Abstract

Physical and chemical characteristics of strawberrry fruits are influenced by several factors such as planting period and harvest months, therefore, the objective in this work was evoluate the post-harvest of fruits of strawberry genotypes throwgh out the evaluation months

and the different growing containers. The plant material used were two genotypes called DC- 09, with a short day, and DN-03, with a neutral day, conducted under two types of support.

The plant materials were grown outside the soil in substrate during the months of production. The experimental design adopted for each genotype was in subdivided plots with three replications each consisting of 15 fruits, in general, in randomized blocks in a three-factor system. The evaluations carried ouyt on the fruits were mass, length, diameter, color, soluble solids and commercial classification of strawberries. Data were compared using the Tukey test, at 5% probability. The results indicate an interaction between containers and harvest months for the DC-09 genotype, with strawberries with greater intensity of red color and higher brix in each month of evaluation were harvested in a vase-type container. For the day-neutral genotype DN-03, larger fruits (mass, length and diameter) in each month of evaluation were collected in the trough-type contêiner and, in each month of harvest, strawberries (DN-03) with greater intensity of red color and with higher brix were obtained from those from the vase-type container.
