Agricultura familiar no estado de São Paulo: uma caracterização da categoria nas dimensões econômica, social e ambiental

Abstract

The present research aimed to characterize family farming for the state of São Paulo in the 3 economic, social and environmental dimensions based on data from the agricultural censuses of 2006 and 2017, prepared by the IBGE. Initially, an integrative review was elaborated in order to identify the state of the art on the theme of family farming in the state of São Paulo. Subsequently, the data of the last two agricultural censuses were accessed, presenting and characterizing these producers through maps and tables. The methodology used is qualitative with a descriptive character, with the description of the facts evidenced by the literature and data collected. The data collection of this research followed the documentary bias, due to the need for data collection and previous academic research. This stage began with an integrative review, in which the collection, treatment and analysis of research on family farming in São Paulo was carried out, systematically mapping the studies to visualize their correlations between authors. Subsequently, data from the 2006 and 2017 Agricultural Censuses were collected and analyzed, unfolding the information considering the economic, social, and environmental dimensions. In reference to the limits of the research, it was based exclusively on seeing the data for 2006 and 2017 for the state of São Paulo according to the availability of the tables and the data shown there for contrast, and the searches located on the CAPES journal portal. Thus, from the literature, it was verified a category well obtaining income from the cultivation, mainly of fruits, such as grapes and bananas. In view of the findings made by the literature, a scenario was observed in which a reduction is observed in terms of the number of establishments and area, but on the other hand, there is an increase in the number of women and in the concentration of people per unit of agricultural production. However, there is still low schooling and low levels of organic production in current times.
