A biologia celular no currículo de ciências e suas relações com os livros didáticos

Abstract

Considered an abstract field in Science Teaching, Cell Biology is a theme worked with difficulty in High School and, mainly, in Elementary School. The understanding of the study of the cell is of great importance at these levels of education, because, despite its microscopic size, it is associated with various aspects of living beings, since it is the fundamental unit of life. Therefore, the study of this theme is part of the content addressed in the curricular matrices of Basic Education, according to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the Gaucho Curricular Reference (RCG). This research sought to analyze how the theme of Cell Biology is approached in the textbooks (LD) of Sciences of the 6th year of Elementary School provided by the National Program of the Didactic Book 2020 (PNLD 2020). The choice for this object of study is due to it being widely used by professionals in the area of education, whether Public or Private, and by students as a reference for school work. The first chapter corresponds to a bibliographic review and its results contributed to the theoretical contribution of this dissertation. To do so, we mapped and chose only the master's dissertations and doctoral theses (2005-2021), since they represent the current research in the area. In this study, the works were organized into two categories that characterize the analysis process, namely: the conceptions of curriculum (Traditional, Critical and Post-critical) and the role attributed to the LD (Mediator, Organizer of the curriculum and Support material). The second chapter aimed to evaluate the presence of the content and images of Cell Biology in the LD, observing whether the proposal contained in the BNCC and the RCG is properly applied in the LD of Sciences.
