Representações em Gen Pés Descalços: a relação entre os Estados Unidos e Japão nos primeiros anos da Guerra Fria

Abstract

This work intents to annalyse the relation between USA and Japan during the Cold War as represented in the manga Barefoot Gen. Seeing that representations are the manner in which mankind elaborate its ideas and perceptions about the world, we think that aprehending how these representations are shown in the book tell us the vision of the author, a survival from the athomic bomb launched over Hiroshima during the World War II, and consequently the way he comprehend the past of Japan. Considering that we put our political and social visions in our words, we can affirm that there is no neutral narrative, therefore, is through the annalysis of Nakazawa's work that we can see his political point of view and his social commitment with the events that have occurred during the early post-War years in Hiroshima.
