Resume: | A Azaléia (R. simsii Planch.) |
Abstract: | The Azalea (R. simsii Planch.) is an ornamental plant whose propagation is usually done by cuttings, and this practice can make use of natural or synthetic auxin to obtain a better rooting. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of aqueous extract of tiririca and thiamine solution for rooting of azalea. The cuttings were collected from the top branches of the mother plants, and for afternoon each repetition received mergulhamento by solution treatment for about ten minutes after were then placed in polyethylene pots containing sand as the substrate. After 45 days the cuttings were evaluated, and then measured the number of roots per cutting and length of the three longest roots per replicate. Analysis of variance was performed and the variables that showed significant differences, we used the mean comparison test according to Tukey at 5% probability. For this, the ASSISTAT statistical software was used. The results showed no significant difference for any of the treatments, with the possible cause of the high rate of dead or unrooted cuttings. Still can notice subtle differences that showed better effects on cuttings treated with thiamine, and also extract nutsedge. With these observations we can conclude that more studies that take into account different levels and methods of application of treatments are needed. |
