A cultura indígena nas escolas de educação básica

Abstract

Intercultural education is defined by dialogue and interaction involving different cultures. Therefore, it is necessary that all rights represented by the laws take effect in practice. A path in order to create means to ensure the rights and dialogue between different cultures is through education. The purpose of this document is to discuss literature indigenous cultures in the school context, from an intercultural perspective. Discusses therefore how to include indigenous groups, considering the imposition of the hegemonic culture. We seek to address issues culture and education, related to the rights of indigenous groups, through the struggles against the great process of reduction and exclusion of indigenous people on the national scene. Therefore, we discuss the historical context of Brazil's colonization and the reality of indigenous groups in the West of Santa Catarina. We hope to contribute to intercultural education, raise questions to the appreciation of different cultures, highlight the indigenous. Cultures and their interactions with society are fundamental to inclusive education, able to respect and create dialogues between different cultural, making the school a social space and transformer.
