A Segunda Guerra Mundial no cinema: uma comparação entre "Círculo de fogo" e " O resgate do soldado Ryan"

Abstract

This research aims to present some characteristics related to the use of cinematographic works as historical sources, in this case specific to World War II. How this entertainment mechanism was inserted in the historical environment, how it acts in the spectators and what causes them in the emotional field. For that, two films were used, "The Rescue of Private Ryan" and "The Circle of Fire" that have their approaches based on two battles of World War II, Stalingrad and DIA D, that were decisive milestones for the final outcome of the same. As each producer sought to use the historical fact to develop a fictitious story in parallel. At what points do the works go against each other and where do they distance themselves? As this mechanism can be inserted into the day-to-day classrooms by assisting History teachers, and approaching the need to accompany a moment in which society is experiencing an avalanche of immediate information such as animations, sounds, images and special effects, increasingly innovative, not letting themselves be lost those historical facts that have often contributed to current technologies.
