Contextualização dos conhecimentos da botânica no ensino médio: um estudo na Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio Inglês de Souza em Charrua-RS

Abstract

This course completion work reflects on the importance of contextualization of the contents of botanical to allow greater student learning, and the overcoming of theoretical teaching and based on memorization. Was intended to raise the perceptions of students of the third year of high school in a state school in the municipality of Charrua – RS about the study of botany and its relation to everyday life. The stages of the research contemplated: a) bibliographic review on teaching of botany in basic education trying to understand their difficulties; b) Redemption of previous knowledge of botany dos estudantes participantes por meio de desenhos; c) Application of a questionnaire to the students to understand their understanding of the relationship between botanic teaching and daily life and their mastery of basic contents about plants d) Realization of a practical workshop with the theme linked to the importance of the process of photosynthesis in the life of organisms. The results indicate that students form an association from the botanic to the daily life of humans and other animals, but significant gaps remain in attempts to explain fundamental processes of plant functioning, such as those related to reproduction or photosynthesis.
