As primeiras evidências do TEA em crianças na perspectiva materna

Abstract

The present research has as its theme The First Evidence of ASD in Children in the Maternal Perspective, whose general objective is to analyze how the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can influence the family's daily life, we resorted to bibliographic research and resumed the collection of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), using as descriptors: ASD, diagnosis and maternal burden using the time frame of 2013 - 2019. From the collected materials, we built a dialogue with the records made in the researcher's field diary because of the needs of her child diagnosed with ASD. The data allows us to indicate that the diagnosis is often complex, and difficult, but necessary for access to educational care and therapies. Because they allow a better quality of life for the child and adult with ASD, however, the family, but especially the mother, when assuming the responsibilities of the educational process, therapies, and care, has an overload of work and stress. To this end, public policies are needed to ensure children, youth and adults have access to health, services (therapies), and education.
