Leitura como performance

Abstract

This study proposes to comprehend how the reading metaphors enunciated by the literary criticism read the literary texts and the readers, which subjects they constitute and which historicities they have. The research presents an analysis of the metaphor “performance” enunciated in the discursiveness of the criticism “Augusto de Campos” from Ricardo Domenck published in the electronic magazine Modo de Usar & Co. on January 14th, 2009. Our study aims to analize the reading metaphor “performance”, investigate the conditions of its appearance, comprehend the historicity that supports it and comprehend the discursiveness of the criticism brought into discussion by this reading metaphor. Through Michel Pêcheux’s studies (2009), we comprehend the metaphor as a socio-historic process which serves as a foundation for the presentation of objects to subjects. We read the metaphor “performance” as an image of the reading and, besides, as a socio-historic form that constitutes senses about what “reading” means. From Pêcheux (2009-2010a), we understand the metaphor is constituted by a displacement of sense, through the metaphoric effect between a discursive formation and another. By the appearance conditions of this metaphor in its relation to the socio-historic and the “already said”, and in its relation to the discursive memory we aim to comprehend what “reading with performance” is.
